We are developing a culturally relevant workbook to give our scholarship students techniques to manage stressful life problems. Our largely volunteer team is also developing, scripting, and producing animated videos that will be uploaded to YouTube. Follow us on our "news and updates" link and social media
Our scholarship award program covers all necessary costs of a 4-year secondary (high-school) boarding school education. In rural Kenya and other African countries, secondary education is unavailable to women with the same equity as young men. Additionally, each scholarship recipient that we sponsor will be selected by educational stakeholders from local communities such as teachers, local mentors, and primary school administrators.
Our Scholarship recipients are selected because of their outstanding primary education performance, excellent scores on the KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education) Exam, and financial need.
Agnes, our 2022 scholarship recipient, comes from a rural farming village and attended Mbulia Primary School for her primary education. The FOP Inc Scholarship launched her to complete her dream of secondary education and she was accepted into one of the best girls' secondary schools in Kenya, Taita Taveta, called Mwasere Girls High School.
Our second and third scholarship recipients are Peris Mwambi and Celestine Mpatianyi, began their education in 2023.
It is our goal to find qualified candidates interested in learning life skills as part of their eduction. For example, young women who become doctors, teachers, nurses, professors, business entrepreneurs, or peer counselors who have reached their goals and overcome stressful barriers become models of strength for others. In this way, their education is viewed as a crucial pathway for women to transform their lives and at the same time become positive agents of change and leaders in their communities.
